One of the most bothersome issues in the exchange of documents is knowing what documents are accepted by those we are sending files to, so that we don’t get that email saying “How do I open this?".
In particular, it would be of great interest to Open/LibreOffice users to know who can receive documents in ODF.

The Region of Emilia-Romagna is currently working to answer this question for Italy with an ODF census of the Italian Public Administration agencies.
Follow this link to find out more.

In order to simplify the answer even more we have developed ODFAddressBook, OpenOffice and LibreOffice extension that incorporates the Open Data from the ODF census in order to make it easier to access this information. And we issue it with an Open Source license.

You can download ODFAddressBook-AOO-0.1.42.oxt for OpenOffice here and ODFAddressBook-LibO-0.1.44.oxt for LibreOffice here.
Download the user’s instructions here.

Soon the official extension and GitHub sites will be issued.
